Dropbox is giving away extra storage with the newest version of Dropbox for Mac or Windows. Just plug in your camera, phone, or SD card into your computer and your photos and videos are automatically uploaded to Dropbox. With the first automatic upload you get 500 MB more space for free. As you upload more photos and videos, you earn up to 3GB extra, all free.

The new version is codenamed: Phoenix Down.

I read about this yesterday via rss and although having the extra space is a good thing, I'm very specific about what I upload to Dropbox therefore, the automatic uploading doesn't bode well for me.

Yeah autouploads can be tricky. I had a problem with itookthiswithmyphone in that regard. I almost got my photobucket account banned for some "private" pictures I took that it upload. I have forgotten it was turned on. Lol
