Not Motorola android phones or Nexus devices from what I read but it's up in the air about if the new galaxy nexus

I thought it was determined on ALL Android devices since the Carrier IQ is based within the Android firmware itself, not in the hardware.

From what I've read, installation/activation of CarrierIQ is mostly the carriers doing (and I believe won't be present in specialized ROMs for Android, like Cyanogenmod)--and in fact it is on iOS as well, though it appears to be disabled by default, unlike most of the other instances. Read more here: Carrier IQ is on iOS

IT's unsettling when you think about all the passwords and personal text messages that get sent out from your phone...I definitely have any data collection turned off on my phones. But really who knows how effective that even is. It's surprising that Blackberry was also using this due to their committment to security of your phone...however I guess they need to make a buck like the rest of the companies...
