I have an iMac and lately it seems that if I am running more then a few applications, it crashes (shows blue start up screen and reboots).

I put my snow leopard osx disc in and when I verify disc permissions on disc utlility, it takes about 6 minutes to get to the "1 minute remaining" mark and then doesn't go any further.. I left it running for 12+ hours. The same for repair disc permissions.

Specs on my iMac:
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1 Gig 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Thanks

Try using Onyx to clean up cache and clear out some old log files and what not it might help. I do recommend getting more ram. 4gbs should be fairly cheap for your computer and should help A LOT

You can get a Kingston Ram around $50 for a peice of 2GB. Most likely your machine has no open slot, so you would need to buy 2pc if you want to max out the ram capacity. Good Luck!
