if you're using a 3Gs on 3.0 or above then you have a compass app already that does exactly what you just stated. i you don't have a 3Gs then you don't have an inbuilt compass in which case check out "Compass Free"

i haven't been able to find anything really solid yet. i believe there are some IRC apps if you're jailbroken. also Mini Friday for iphone looks promising [but isn't out yet] Mini Friday if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

also got it off lightmasters repository and it's amazing! the ability to read and delete mail without actualy opening the mail app is particularly awesome! one question though, how do i assign apps to a particular priority? would love to be able to set stuff like fring notifications as sticky.

heh i always thought it was a bad stereotype that americans carry guns with them at all times. i just find it strange because i know no one who owns a gun and the only time i have seen one was at my friends uncles farm, and it was a small rifle he used to shoot feral cats.

yea like i said it's not something i was concerned about before. just now with things like ubanspoons 'scope' view it would be nice if i could use it without all the locations just jumping and spinning around like some sort of crazy circus ride. my main concern was that it was just my phone but...
