OK, after a couple of searches.... Here is how to do this in Windows -- Press the Alt key to get a hidden menu. From the hidden menu, pick File -> Devices -> "Transfer Purchases from <device>"

I want to use this feature again, and iTunes has changed. Where did "transfer purchases" go? Anybody seen it lately?

I am looking for a menu item: In the old itunes you could right-click on the name of the device and get a menu item that said "transfer purchases" -- where did that go in the new version of itunes? Thanks!

Actually, we share apps on Home Sharing all the time. It sounds like Family Sharing then adds not having to be on the same network (not an issue for us) and subtracts some apps (that don't have developer approval. If Home Sharing is staying the way it is, it may meet our needs just fine...

I applied the iOS 7.1.1 update, and it got stuck in recovery mode. It recovered, but restoring my settings has failed. Itunes had a local backup from December (I know, should have backed up by hand before starting update.... sigh... I used to be paranoid about that but have gotten sloppy!)...
