I don't think that the same "upgrade policy" is applying to the new iPhones. Sure, you can look online at AT&T and see if you are upgrade eligible, but that is for online ordering. iPhone in-store will be different depending on your contract status (good standing and long-standing). 18 months...

Why would we have to pay more for 3G? I have a Treo 750 with 3G and I only pay $15 for the MediaMax bundle which is unlimited data.

Exchange support was one of my most "must haves" so I can get corporate mail without having to go through IT. Hopefully the battery will be much better than the 750 so I can actually check my emails more than a couple times a day...hehehe.

I've never understood the difference between a Data plan and their Media plans. I've used my Treo on the MediaMax Unlimited plan ($15) for years now. Use POP email as well as Exchange Server through work. Doubt if I get an iPhone, I'd be that lucky and have to migrate to their higher priced plan.

I only pay $20/month for unlimited data (MediaMax) with my Treo 750 (3G). Not sure if I should "only" be paying that or the higher Data plans... I'm not going to ask. An extra $10 isn't bad but then double that because I'm sure my wife will want to upgrade as well. Hypemaster = Apple

never had problems with AT&T. Sure sometimes you get a know-nothing CSR on the phone, but the right prodding you can get to a senior CSR that than fix the issues. With the handful of issues over the years, I just take the phone to an AT&T store and let them call and deal with CSR.
