I don't know why anyone would shower with a watch on. Just having to wear a soaking wet watch band would drive me bonkers. I don't even wear my wedding band in the shower. It just bugs me. To each his/her own, I suppose.

Update for those who may have the same issue down the road ....
I was unable to get the watch to go past the Apple Basics screen. The circle ticker never ticked to full. It just stayed stuck at the very beginning no matter what I did ....
Anyway...
I’ve had every iteration of the AW and have never used a case or screen protector. Of all the watches, only one got a very slight scuff on the corner. Every other one has been perfect.
I’m hoping someone can help me here. I am giving my AW S4 to a friend and when he is walking through the initial pairing and setup process, the watch gets stuck on the Apple Basics screen and the progress dial never moves. It just sits there. We’ve tried restarting the phone and the watch and...
If anything, mine has been worse going from my XS to my 11Pro. This is due in large part to the failure of AT&T WiFi calling to engage in low signal areas (like my house). But overall, it’s the same as the XS on cellular data at best.
