Ordered Dec 13 with an original delivery date of Jan 12 (Louisiana, USA.) I got them yesterday, a week ahead of schedule. IMO, they're well worth the wait. These things are awesome.

Can't recall where I heard this -- maybe from Jony Ive's design video during the September keynote? -- but I believe Apple redesigned the AirPods to fit a wider variety of ear shapes than the original EarPods design.

I pre-ordered mine, because I have no desire to fight the pre-Christmas crowds in the Apple Stores to get them. Four week delivery was fine with me.

Count me in. I was honestly more impressed with the AirPod presentation during the iPhone 7 event. I use my current EarPod headset every day for phone calls at work, so the AirPods will absolutely be a better experience in every way for that use case. I already have over the ear studio monitors...

Can you select which languages to use with the keyboard? I'd love to be able to switch more easily between English and Esperanto. All we really need are ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ, and ŭ.

If a hard reset doesn't fix it, the only option left is to wipe everything and restore from backup. That's what I finally had to do, and it did fix the problem.

Grumble. The constant battery drain is back now. The only thing out of the ordinary I remember doing the past couple of days is that I cancelled an app download. Turning on airplane mode stops the 1:1 usage/standby ratio. Perhaps the phone still thinks it should be downloading something?

Another update: Last Saturday, I completely wiped my 5S and set it back up as a new iPhone. For the first day or so, I resisted the urge to reinstall all of my apps and just left the phone stock. That resolved all of my battery issues. The CPU stopped running constantly and the usage/standby...

Full wipe and backup restore from iTunes didn't resolve it. Something that isn't immediately obvious is causing the phone to run constantly, even with the screen off. Usage and standby times are exactly the same. I hate to do a full wipe and restore as new, but I'm not sure what else to try.

Hmmm. That's an interesting observation. When I initially got my 5S in late October, the battery life seemed normal for a smartphone. Over the past few weeks, it's been very bad -- running down 30% over 2 hours even with the phone mostly off. And sure enough, I did an iCloud restore in December...

Update: I've generally preferred not using a case at all, or at least a very minimal one, because I honestly just don't drop my phone. Ever. But I've learned by experience that I can't trust my loved ones to handle my tech with the same level of care. Sure enough, my wife dropped my naked...

I've been getting good battery life since I got my 5S at the end of October -- off the charger at 5am, back on at 10ish. But the past week or so something is running the battery down much faster than normal in the background. Only two things have changed -- a new update was released for Boxer...
