Hardware question, not sure if the MAcbook or MBookPro is the best fit

My main usage will be web, email, MSFT Office, home video editing. My video editing will be simple and for casual use.

The MacBook would be more than sufficient for what you are planning on using it for. The only reason I would tell you to go to the Pro is if you were doing some serious video editing, but that is not your plan. The MacBook is a formidable machine that should last you several years.
