I have been trying to sync my Apple Watch to my Macbook with no luck, how can I do this? What could I be doing wrong?

you can't. the watch syncs to the apple watch app on an iPhone only....
why would you want to sync it to you mac? its not an iPod... it's an extension to an iPhone.
