So I finally gave up on my MacBook 2,1 and retired it. It was running a SFOTT 10.8.5 and it ran OK but it would kernel panic a lot and I got tired of dealing with a hackintoshed Mac. So I grabbed a MacBook 5,2 from Ebay for 120. I threw a SSD and 8GB in it. I installed 10.10.3 and while I realize that this computer is 6 years old, but it really seems to lag when connected to my 23" HP monitor. I really thought that the Nvidia 9400 would be enough to push a 23" 1080P external, my 2,1 with that crappy 950 gma was painful slow with it. I am not doing anything intensive just Safari,iTunes,iPhoto, and Numbers..

Any suggestions?

Edit: I found some old ram from a HP desktop and now I have 8GB. Preformance seems a little better.

Hope this is a good solution for you. I wouldn't dare tinker like that. I'm such a chicken.
