[TIP]Depending on when you purchased your MacBook, are you aware that it may be capable of connecting to Wi-Fi via the 5 GHz band? Having said that, if you are in an area of heavy Wi-Fi usage (living in an apartment, for example) and your Wi-Fi router is dual band, chances are you might find the 5 GHz band usage rare and could be of great benefit to you.[/TIP] Are you one of the many who you use the 5 GHz band?

I use the 5GHz band almost exclusively and keep my kids devices on the 2.4 band.

I'm somewhat similar. My MacBook, iPhone 5 and iPad 2 are connected via the 5 GHz band whereas everything else is connect to via 2.4 GHz. I love having the option.

That is how I roll, too... gives me all the bandwidth I need... let them fight for the scraps.
