Hi everyone. Apple doesn't have the 460 model on time for me (I'll be leaving).*
Therefore my options are either the base pro model 15 inch 2016 with the 2.6 and the 450 or the 2.7 with the 455.

I will use it for 4k editing on Final Cut and some web design and graphic design and general tasks.*

Is it worth it to go for the 2.7 with 455 or is the difference negligible? Especially I am interested for final Cut if there will be any significant peromance boost.*

Also what about any throttling on the 2.7 vs 2.6. Are there any reports? Or are they both the same?

Thanks everyone.*

You don't need to bump the thread so often, @john574820 ... people will still see it and if they have the answer, they can provide it. You're asking some pretty detailed/specific questions that I'm not sure how many will know the answer to. Hopefully someone will :)

Exactly. John, maybe give Apple a call?

I honestly don't think you'll notice a large difference if you went with the the 2.7. I imagine you'd be fine with that.

Storage wise you'd probably be better off with the 512gb one. I don't know how much of a difference there is between the 450 & the 455. I'm still rockin the late 2013 15" rMBP with d/gpu.

With your asking if anyone is there, I have a thread about 2 wks old that no one has answered. Oh well.

The processor speed difference between the 2.6ghz and the 2.7ghz is almost not noticed. There is a small difference between the 450 and 455. About a 30% improvement. Here is a small table that details the difference.

In comparison, a Radeon RX 460 has about 2.2 teraflops. So the cards are no super powerful, but they are very efficient especially when running Mac software. 😃
