MAC folders all lost color

I have a 5 year old Mac, recently my primary folders all lost their color. They are not "greyed out" as I can access all the sub-folders but they too lost their color. I tried everything, even a reset to a prior date. The color is not "tagging", just general color of the folders. Everything else works fine. Just very weird why this happened. Thoughts?

It looks like you somehow changed icons of these folders. It is possible, for example, through "Get info" window.
