I'd get a 13 with touchbar, but I'd want 16 gigs of ram. I'm stuck on silver or space gray. It's hard to let go of the silver, but the gray looks really nice and new. If there was a matte black, I'd be all over it.

13 inch 512GB SSD for sure, 256 is so less, even phones are giving that much amount of storage.
13 inch combined with 4K monitor

It depends on users' preference looking their budget along with products specs or whatever. But one of my friends is having a 15-inches MacBook Pro but he often complains about the big screen saying that he assume using a large big monitor like old age. He only bought as he is the huge Apple fan and bought the product just as it came into the market but LOL now he is thinking to replace it with the 13 inches Pro :D

previous macbook pro gave us convenience for its multi ports, and of course magsafe, but the 2016 macbook pro's touch bar is awesome. if you dont care about ports, then go for the 2016 macbook pro with touchbar. if you don't need the touchbar then 2015 macbook pro is i think better.

Does anyone have any recommendations for programming? I use a Dell 15" inspiron right now and want to switch to Mac. I like the compactness of the 13" but I've never owned a 13" laptop before. If I go for the 13" will I regret it?

Touch bar 15" received it yesterday and love it. I would say the only thing I wasn't happy with was no power adaptor extension cord and no magsafe..but I knew that going in, doesn't mean I don't miss it though..

Base 15" because of value. If you spec up a 13 it costs more and still doesn't have quad core or dedicated graphics. I would prefer the 13 but it just doesn't make sense.
