How do I get Safari on my Mac to display the address bar?

I don't know what happened to my address bar in Safari, it gone and nothing works to make it come back, customize toolbar doesn't work, i drag it were it should be and then it hides and i can't get it back
command + l is what i am doing for everything, can someone please tell me how to get my address bar back and make it stay where it should be please :cant-watch:
i don't know anything about deleting the safari preferences

Have you made sure you have the Safari toolbar set to be visible?

on my other mac is has it set to visible but i don't see how to do it on the one where i am having so much trouble with, how do i make it stay
