rMBP (2014) slow to boot up (since 10.10.3) and shut down (since 10.10.2 or .1)
I'm wondering if anyone can help solve an annoyance of mine: I bought a new rMBP back in February (13", 2.8 ghz i5, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD), and noticed a while back that shutting down the Mac takes about 30 seconds - much slower than normal. This happened around the time I installed Adobe CS programs, but even after I deleted the programs, the laptop still takes a while to shut down. Since then, I also configured my laptop to encrypt my hard drive, but this has not slowed down the laptop any more than I was already experiencing.
Since I upgraded to 10.10.3 last week, I notice that boot up times have slowed down, too. I get a black screen for 15-20 seconds, and then the Apple logo pops up before fading into my login screen.
Does anyone have ideas as to what's causing this, and how to fix it? I loved how fast this thing booted up and shut down when I first got it, and it's frustrating to see how slow it's gotten. I should also point out that I only use up about 100 GB of the hard drive.
Thanks!
