One thing for me is im only going to have around 100GB of hard drive space and its 2014 not 2002 a base of any model shouldnt have less that maybe 300 but its a step towards SSD and thats what we have to do make them cheaper

I have a few USBs and a USB3 External HDD so im covered on storage its just I feel weird downgrading from 450GB to 100

Congrats. I bought my first macbook pro retina last month and I had the same gripe about storage space. I still haven't gotten used to a 120+ GB space coming from 450+ GB. However, I am loving my Mac and I hope you do too!

I picked up a Macbook Air last week and just returned it for the Macbook pro with Retina, the difference between the two is the screen and the pro seems to be sturdier than the air.

Yes, the screen is definitely better but Air is as strong as Pro. Check on Youtube.

I did it this weekend as well, after 15+ years of Macs when I went I an independent contractor consulting I opted for a Windows laptop since it was for my small business, considering now the price difference I wished I had gotten a new MBP, so I did that this weekend and my current windows machine will get wiped and donated to a good cause. Still a top of the line laptop but its better to be on a Mac.
