    Hello
I'm thinking about buying the new rmbp but I'm not sure if I should go for 8 or 16gb of ram.
I'm planning on using the computer for quite a long time and not upgrading in at least 4-5 years. I'm leaning towards the 16gb option since you can't upgrade later, but I can't really decide. I'll be using the computer for app development, parallels, photoshopping and maybe some gaming (though i mostly use my ps3 for that).
What do you guys think? Is it worth the extra $200 for 16gb?

I guess 8gb should be ok for a while, but 4-5 years and all those apps I think 16GB is definitely needed....

    For those uses? 16GB absolutely.

I hate the fact we can't upgrade the ram on neither of these laptops... 16gb with Apple makes it too expensive for me

Max it all out. Since you cannot expand a book, you might as well max every possible option out.

You can always get an external drive for more space later if needed.

If you can afford to, go with the 512. This is what I just did. Especially if you plan on keeping you Mac around for many years like I do.
