I've did a reset SMC, but still doesn't help... Is this someting that would be considered normal, as i never noticed this on my Retina Mac before either..

The issue is when i browser sites in Firefox, even just looking at iMore's own site sites, makes the fan spin up so the point i can hear them... Their not roaring loud, but still to an audible level... not doing any CPU intense stuff and the Mac does not get hot...

Activity monitor shows CPU when using Firefox it around 5.0 and i've uninstalled iStat Pro, thinking that may have been an issue, but the fan noise cames back.

The only thing left would be to just use Safari as an only browser.. but has anyone seen this?

if i stay in Firefox, the fans spin back down after a bit..... . No flash either... Just basic browsing

Probably nothing to worry about, but i only would expect to hear fan noise when doing CPU intense/activities only, or viewing flash related stuff, not when just pulling up HTML/JavaScript websites

    Mac is i7 model..

Is Firefox that memory intensive, like Chrome? Do you have a lot of themes/addons with it?

Yes, Firefox is a memory hog. Try using Safari and see if that fixes the issue. If it is, then you know the cpu is being used max with Firefox.

Its not being used max, thats the thing...

Activity monitor does show around 30% CPU and

"Firefox web content" the same... *but* this only happens on the Air,... but depending on page viewed...

reason why I probably never get this on a Retina is probably because CPU is. clocked faster.
