Hello all,

This upcoming fall I will be starting a degree in computer science and one of the classes they are offering is app development.

My question is would a new Haswell Air be sufficient for coding in Xcode and any other possible coding programs?

Or should I go for the Pro, non-retina.

Thanks guys

I have been able to use Xcode on my gen 1 MBA so I would think you will be ok on a new Haswell Air.

If you are able to go to an Apple store, I am sure they have Xcode installed on the store models and you could try it out.

Why not? I've been using my MacAir for any type of programming for school. Good luck btw! I'm on my last 2 classes for my bachelors :).

Thanks man, how are the classes? Interesting?

It can be tough and frustrating at times but addicting and fun when you are able to solve problems. It may seem impossible to solve some of the programming assignments but there are plenty of resources out there to learn from outside what instructors teach you. Just allow enough time to learn the syntax and lots of reading. Just stick to it just be prepared to have limited free time :(. Good luck!
