    Hello,
I mainly use my iPad Pro for my daily activities, but I'm looking to get a Mac Mini for basic desktop. I will mainly use it for email, minor picture editing, word, minor audio editing. I am kinda limited on what I want to spend as I purchased an iPad Pro just a few months ago & it's my daily driver. The Mac would only be when I want to use a full size screen, keyboard, backing up my devices, & use my mouse. Also when I need a little bit more horsepower than the iPad has.

I was wondering what thoughts people had on if getting just the basic Mini is OK & worth it. It will be my first Mac, but I won't be using it everyday, nor as my main machine.

Any thoughts, especially from those who have experience using the mini to know how good of a machine it is...Anything helps.

    Thanks!

I use my Mini for audio production, recording, editing and mixing. It'll handle what you throw at it.

Been using a mac mini to host all my site including a small e-commerce site. It's a late 2012 model, I started out with OSX Mountain Lion and now unto Capitan. My Mac Mini/Web server runs 24/7 with no problems.
I love the Mac mini and intend to buy another one soon to use as an email server.
