I have the mid 2010 Mac Mini, with 4 GB DDR3.

For standard browsing, email, document creation/editing and some World of Warcraft playing, seems to me I am better off simply upgrading to 8 GB vs. getting the 2014 Mac Mini with 4 GB. :nerd:

Input appreciated.

It would all depend on your use. But personally, I would upgrade to a 2014 machine. Hardware/OS upgrades on new machines are always well optimised, and are always worth it, in my opinion.

If you do upgrade to the new machine, be warned - the RAM in the 2014 Mac Mini is NOT user serviceable. You will need to buy the configuration that you are willing to keep/use for life.

That said, you will have a new computer with more current specs, which will be more future proof than upgrading and existing Mini.

My plan is to upgrade my 2010 Mac Mini to 8 GB Ram and 512GB SSD. Priced it all out & I'm under $300.

I think that's a better option vs. getting the handicapped 2014 Mini.

Thx all for your input

I use the mini mid 2011 server, core i7 and 8gigs ram, graphics and usb 3.0 are not worth the upgrade for me. I'd be better off building a mini hackintosh.
