Is it possible to jailbreak the iPhone 5 running 10.2 ? Sorry I am a noob to jailbreaking and am finding it difficult to find clear answers!

No, Yalu jailbreak is not support for your device. iOS 10.2 jailbreak can do with Yalu. This solution is not support for iPhone 5

And there probably wont be a jailbreak for 32bit ios10 devices, everyone is focused on 64bit, as all new devices now are.
