Iphone 6 touch id defective

My iPhone 6 touch id has malfunctioned/overheated (per iStore staff). It's currently ruining my battery life and the battery's number of cycles. I'm considering jailbreaking my phone but if I do, is there a way to disable touch id so it won't mess up battery life?

My iPhone 6 touch id has become much less responsive, unlockung is slow & also the long running issue f being usless with sweaty fingers.
