Back the phone up. If it doesn't go smoothly, you can restore and get your phone back to what you're used to.

You've asked twice. The answer isn't going to change. The link provided is a method that works on the iPhone4 and most 3GS models. Follow it step by step. Pay attention. You'll be getting the IPSW for 6.0, not 6.1.3. You'll be alright =)

Plug iPhone into computer, open iTunes and select back up

Allow me to jump in since I have the same problem. The above indicates "most 3GS models": I have iPhone 3GS with ser. # 889193843NP which seems to means it comes with old or original boot rom. Does the jailbreak method work for this iPhone 3GS running on iOS 6.1.3?
