Newbie with an issue

I just did a jailbreak yesterday using Redsn0w on my iPhone 3GS. I have WinterBoard and Cydia. I have loaded several themes and keyboards. Some of the themes come through just fine but the keyboards do not work. Do I have to load them in a different folder with iExplorer to get the keyboard to work? I have done many searches on many forums but I'm finding things from 2010 but nothing really current. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
