App Store Updates

All---- I am kinda new to this but I did jailbreak my Iphone 5 and I am loving it...... I just have one question...I cant seem to get updates from the App store and I also cant open it to see if there are any updates..... Is this something that was caused by jailbreaking? Should I still get updates?

It's a widespread issue from the past 2 days in both stock and jailbroken devices. Just restart your phone and try again later. Everyone's having the same issue and Apple should be investigating the cause.
