So i've never been able to use tinyumbrella successfully because my devices never show up in tinyumbrella. any idea why this is?

Tinyumbrella gave me major issues, so I just use redsn0w for fetching blobs now.

But if you can get TU to work, it's the best program for fetching blobs and restoring.

Check all of 3cit and iDonev suggestions as it is probably one of those. I recall 3cit had similar problems when he first set TU up, as he tried to help me come up with a fix. But I just couldn't crack it.
