Hello: I recently got a used at&t 3gs from my brother. Have installed new sim for straighttalk and phone works fine. I can text but cannot send or receive pic messages. We tried the redsnow jailbreak program and it does not work. Is there any other way to get this feature to work or any program that actually will jailbreak this phone?

Data & text messages, and Picture messages uses different vpn's so you would need to set one up for both. Best bet is to find someone with a iphone on s-take and copy. good luck!

Okay, let's clear something up very fast--jailbreaking is not the same as unlocking.

Jailbreaking gives you root access, and access to cydia. In cydia, you can download ultrasn0w, which will unlock your phone. The exact steps will vary depending on what version of iOS that iPhone 3gs of yours is running. You will also have to alter the APN in order to send and receive the picture messages.
