Phone : I phone
Model : MC133B
3 GS newer model
Current version : 4.1 (8B117)
Modem Firmware : 05.12.01

Hi All

I need some help
I need to upgrade to at least 4.3 so I can use some apps etc.
Thing is I need to keep my unlock and im wondering firstly can this be done ??
and if so if someone would help me do so.
I upgraded from 3.13 to 4.1 and kept baseband intact 05.12.01.
Im hoping I can go up again and keep unlock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

1. Open Cydia and let the home page load.
2. Look at the top bar and see if 4.3 one of the SHSH files listed - most likely it will be.
3. Download sn0wbreeze from ih8sn0w.com.
4. Search online/YouTube for a tutorial on how to use sn0wbreeze.
5. Feel free to ask additional questions. :)

Hi IDONEV

Thanks for your reply.

From reviewing snowbreeze seems i could do custom firmaware on 5.1 and still have unlock.
Sorry if questions seem noob but i mess up and I have no phone

I had two resolutions for error 3194

Alter the hosts file: I tried many advised variations of this and none worked

Use tiny umbrella to make changes : Again this didn't work

Appreciate your patience here, must be a way to get around 3194 error but I cant seem to sort it

If you have the 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 SHSH saved, I'd suggest you go with either version (they're the ones I've used)

- Open the hosts file with Administrator privileges in a text editor (Notepad, etc).

- Add the following line to the very bottom of the hosts file:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

- Save the hosts file, and close it.
- Connect your iDevice to the computer.

- Launch TinyUmbrella
--Click "Advanced", and Check the "Request shsh from Cydia" box
--Click on your iDevice (in the top left)
--Click "Save SHSH"
--Once iOS 5.0 GM (9A344)(whichever iOS version you decide) appears in the "General" tab, click "Start TSS Server"

- Launch iTunes
- Restore or Update as normal!!!
