need help with the jailbreaking. iphone4 ios 6.0.1

i recently updated my phone to ios 6.0.1 over wifi and used redsnow to jailbreak.
the jailbreaking step was successful but could not boot my phone tethered.
every time i select the IPSW 6.0 gsm and click "just boot" after sometime it waits for a reboot and says "exploit failed"...
can any one help please D:

You shouldn't be selecting any firmware... Just open up he LATEST redsnow, and click just boot, it will walk you through the dfu process and use limerain exploit to boot your phone into a jailbroken state
