Bought used iPhone 4S Jailbroken- advice needed

I had originally bought the iPhone 5 but missed the jailbreak stuff too much. So... I found a clean, used iPhone 4S on eBay, jailbroken, running 5.1.1. I still have the last backup from my old 4S on iTunes. My plan when the phone arrives today is to immediately save the SHSHs using Tiny Umbrella, then restore my old backup on iTunes (not a full restore, just a backup restore).

I was wondering if this could leave me vulnerable to anything the last person put on this phone. Should I redo the jailbreak first before I restore the backup of my old iPhone 4S?

A fresh, clean start is the smartest way to go. Don't know what the person before you did to their phone.

So should I do a restore to 5.1.1 with redsn0w? Do I need to use a custom ipsw?

Always a good idea to use a custom ipsw.

It would need to be a clean 5.1.1 ipsw file due to there not being a pwnable dfu mode on anything pas the iphone 4.

So clean ipsw + your blobs & redsn0w 0.9.15b2 redsn0w will tell you the rest.
