I have just got an iPhone 3G for one of my kids.

It's running 4.1.

What jailbreak utility am I best to use and shall I update to the latest firmware?

Update to newest firmware and absinthe 2.0 that bad boy.... Unless you rely on an unlock....

It will go to 4.2.1 and you can use redsnow to JB if you need to preserve the bb you can use snowbreeze ( redsnow even maybe ) if the bb is not unlockable and u must unlock you can update bb to 6.15.00 but that is at a cost. Of gps
