iMatte v5 is a great, stylish, and complete theme for iOS, and it's free. I've been using it for few weeks now, and I still find it awesome, even though I usually don't want to use same theme for even few days. I can't describe it very well, because my english skills suck, but check out screenshots at ModMyi topic I linked.

It is awesome but to take full advantage of it you need to purchase some extra apps, no big deal though and it is worth it!! Check it out if you haven't already

Personally, I don't think it looks hideous. I've seen worse. But I also don't feel a compelling need to install it. (I'm not really much of a theme person.)
