Can I still Jailbreak??

My Iphone 4s shows that the update for 5.1 is available. I am currently on 5.01.

Can I still jailbreak using greenpoison? I read somewhere that once 5.1 is out they you cannot jailbreak as they cannot sign the old 5.01 that is jail broken.

You can jailbreak. I think you use redsnow for 5.01 though. What you can't do after a new release is downgrade your iOS version without having the sshs backed up.

Yes but do not update as there isnt a jailbreak for ios 5.1 yet as its only just been released the only jailbreak that works on the iPhone 4S is absinthe from greenp0ison red snow won't work on A5 devices

Thanks for the help guys.

Just jailbroken tonight.

I backed up the phone to itunes, jailbroke, then restored from the backup from itunes.

My apps have not been restored so are now downloading from the app store.

Is this normal, or have i missed something?

It's recommended to set up as new iPhone then jailbreak to avoid any errors or problems down the line

Did you use RedSn0w? I thought Absinthe was required for jailbreaking 4S.
