Question: is there an easy way for me to change the control file of a debian package? I'd like to remove a needless dependency from a package, and then manually install the .deb on my phone, but I can't seem to make it happen.
I can extract all the relevant files with 7zip, but after editing the control file it then won't let me save the new file. (I get a "no such interface" error.) Any help here would be much appreciated!
Also: the machine I'm working on is on Windows XP, so any solution will need to use that. Thanks!
(I also tried using iDeb, but results weren't so great. I can't seem to get the folder structure correct on the resulting .deb, possible because XP won't let me create a "." folder?)
