Hey, im new to the jailbreaking thing. I got the Iphone 4S and im wondering whats some of the coolest/Exciting apps/Themes

-If you could post some different apps or themes you like and/have and tell me what they do id be SUPER happy. thnx

I am also new to JB. and there seems to be no one or ten most awesome theme/apps. JB is all about customizing your phone the way YOU want it. Some apps do a lot, some do a little. Some are for organizations, others are purely for looks. just have to try them all out for youself!!

some things you will find in cydia. others you will find as .zip files that you need to install into the root to utilize. DL iexplorer for MAC. i hear ifunbox for PC is also good.

To remove Cydia apps, just open Cydia>Manage>Packages>YourPackageName>Modify>Remove

You can then either confirm the single removal or put it in a queue while you add other apps to the list of apps you want to delete.

I found winterboard to be fine. Some themes can cause the phone to slow down though.

ISX is an awesome app to get. It's for your notification centre. It adds widgets to them. Facebook twitter your mail and your favorite websites with a news reader widget. It also comes with message+ which is an awesome messaging app.

Im looking for a mail app the pr a tweak that will let me attach attchment from my mail. I like to open the mail hit reply and add attachment. i don't like the way Apple want you to open the attachment or photo first. LAME

It wasn't winterboard....
Perhaps you had competing themes. But I, and every other iDevice user, assure you that it WAS NOT winterboard...

I dont know if you think I was just born yesterday or I'm some noob when it comes to phones. The 4S has dual cores and I can assure you Winterboard has not been optimized for the 4S or even tested on for that matter. You and every idevice user? So these people below are just all imaginary people?

The list goes on and on. Get off of your high almighty horse, Winterboard does cause issues on the 4S.

i havent had any problems with winterboard. if you have, then go with what works. there is no automatic right and wrong here.

Things usually get updated for version numbers, not specs of the phone.
Thats why everything says updated for iOS5 and not updated for the 4S.
Things don't always gone smooth in cydia. If it fails delete and try again. If it fails again I'd suggest redoing your jailbreak.
Most users, 4S or not, don't have trouble with winterboard. Not saying it doesn't happen, its just unlikely.
Thats why most think it was something else you were trying to run in winterboard, that could of possibly not been updated for iOS5.
Sometime cydia will delete the package if you don't have the necessary things to run it. Which would explain why it would work better after winterboard was deleted.

I haven't had any problems with winterboard-- but from my experience in testing hundreds of phones, versions of OS's and app compatibility, no phone is created equal. Sometimes an app that runs silky on one device, just doesn't play well with a like device. Doesn't happen very often, but I have seen it before.

For example, everytime my buddy JB's his i4 his springboard becomes horribly sluggish; this is just after JB, mind you--without any additional apps and tweaks. Unfortunately, sometimes....crap happens.
