MyWi 5.0 not connecting

I have MyWi 5.0 on iPhone4s. I am able to connect to Internet on my kindle fire but can not get the laptop to connect. Any help or pointers?

do you happen to set up a security code within MyWi? if so, that could be the culprit

I do have a security code set up and entered it when setting up the network on the computer. WiFi will hook up but it takes about 20 minutes. I checked driver updates for my WiFi router but it says it's up to date.

Tried USB and that hooks up right away.
