push notifications not working

Jumped from 4.0.1 (everything worked great) to 5.0.1, hated it so had blobs for 4.3.3, but none of my free text apps are telling me when I get a text. I have to manually check each time. I've d/l the tmobile mms fix and apn from bingner which fixed a different phone I had, but mine still isn't working. Any help?
