Untethered Glitch

so finally in my city we got power back hence we got wifi back at my house. (a foot of snow crashed trees into all of our power lines)

i updated two sources in cydia and then my jailbroken ipod 4th gen crashed.
i had to restore to get it back working and rejailbroke via redsnow and tether.

like always at first cydia is a white icon.
but when i shut off my device and try to just boot via redsnow it doesn't recognize my device.
and yet still it starts up without the jailbreak.

i dont think this is a problem with cydia since i updated the same to sources on my iphone 4 what gives?

This might not help, but all I can suggest is to do is restore to official 5.0 and re-jb.

thanks i did that.
what was happening was that (as always) i let go of my home button when redsnow recognized it.
but for some reason didn't complete the jailbreak.

i restored 2 times to original iOS5 ispw
then opened taskmanager and killed all services pertaining to itunes including icloud
then started up redsnow and held the dfu home until the pineapple showed up and then all was peachy.
