Some basic jailbreak questions

I'm new to jailbreaking and there are some things that I'm not sure about, so I'd better ask before trying anything:

I'm on iOS 5 and want to try the tethered method. I know how to do it, but how exactly do I restore to original iOS5 if I want to? Do I need to save SHSH blobs or the IPSW file is enough? And how is it done in iTunes (restoring)?

shsh is to downgrade.. current version is 5.0. so u need nothing. just hit restore if u want to go back to stock.
