Cydia crash during upgrade

I jail-broke my iPhone 3G about 2yrs ago and everything was great until last night. I went on to Cydia and it had 5 upgrades - since there were 5, I chose "Complete Upgrade". It re-booted into Safe Mode and I tried re-starting it a bunch of times. Finally, I just started uninstalling packages since I wasn't sure what did it, until it uninstalled Cydia itself. I still have the Winterboard on it, but would like to get the toggles and such back but I'm nervous about jailbreaking it again.

Should I be? I believe I'm on version 3.1 or 3.2 right now. Is it too old and that's why it wouldn't reboot normally?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not all that computer savvy with this stuff.

Thanks,
Dave

i don't think "being too old' would cause anything.

do you mean the phone or cydia went into safe mode?
i believe jailbreakme.com still supports that version but not sure.

and as for is it worth it.... yes.
especially if you need it to unlock you phone.
