There are a few jailbreak apps out there for it. You can load XBMC which is pretty cool, it lets you play video other than mp4, it was kind of slow for me, but I didn't really try too hard to get it to work well as like 90% of my video library has already been converted to mp4. There's a grooveshark app, if you are into that sort of thing, a web browser, rss feed viewer, twitter feed and a few other things like that. It's not hard to do, and I think it's worth it if you like to play around with your iDevices.
