App store and my jailbroke iPhone 4!

Well I was on 4.3.1(jailbreak) and loved every moment of it. Well the other day I had a couple of apple AppStore apps that needed upgraded. So went to the AppStore on my iPhone and put my password in and I received a message- connection refusal. I must have tried 10 more times. Lol. Well I ended up updating my firmware and now I can connect to the AppStore. I just can't figure out why or what would cause that. I am going to re jailbreak. Has anybody have any of the same issues.

I haven't noticed anything. It might have been possible if the App Store couldn't connect to the iTunes database via your connection.
