hey, kinda new here but anyways, if your like me and forgot to save your shsh blobs and updated to 4.3, there is a way to go back to 4.2.1,
first, I AM NOT RESPONSIABLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO ANY OF YOUR IDEVICES WHILE DOING THIS!!!!! i did this on an iphone 4 32 gig, i do not know if it will work on anything else, i also did this on a mac, im sure it can be done on windows too though.
*****MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR IPHONE******
*****NOTE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BACKUP FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION OF IOS THAN YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESTORE FROM BACKUP, FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU ARE RUNNING 4.3 AND YOU TRY TO RESTORE FROM THAT BACKUP IT WILL NOT WORK YOU MUST HAVE A BACKUP FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION TO RESTORE*********
firstly, download the ios 4.2.1 from any site, just google it
make sure you get the right version.
than right click on finder and type /etc
once that is open scroll down and look for the hosts file.
than right click and open with textedit.
once in there scroll to the bottom and put in
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
make sure you save as name: hosts and uncheck the option to make .txt,
save file to desktop than drag from desktop to /ect
next put your iphone in dfu mode to do this turn off, hold power button and home button for 10 seconds then release the power button and keep your finger on the home button.
wait for itunes to recgonize that it is in recovery mode.
once it is recovery mode right click on restore and choose the firmware
let it do its thing, once done you will get an error (1013) ignore this
than open terminal
type: sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
use the arrow keys go to the bottom and comment out the line you just put in
by putting a # infront of it.
next open greenp0ison and follow the instructions there to jailbreak.
once jailbroken you can sync your iphone with ituens, make sure you do not update again, if you have any questions i will try and answer them later and if i forgot anything....sorry.
