Redsnow or Greenpoison or LimeRa1n??

I'm still on 4.1 and have never JB my iphone 4 before... I was waiting on a 4.2 untethered JB but that seems it may be pushed to 4.3... so i was thinking i would just bite the bullet and JB so I can see what its all about.

There are 3 tools on Windows I have read that I can JB. Though is there a general concencus on which to use? Why 3 tools to do the same job??

Do I need to use Tinyumberella first to save my blob or will redsnow do that for me?

I have yet to find a single comprehensive guide from start to finish for jailbreaking... sucks

There are three tools because there were three jailbreak groups, redsn0w (iPhone DevTeam), greenpois0n (chronic DevTeam) and limera1n (geoh0t). They all use the same exploit though.

You need to save your SHSH blob using TinyUmbrella.

As for the instructions, I just ask my friend google.

I had serious battery issues with limera1n and then restored and re jailbroke with greenposi0n and have not had a problem with it yet. It's all a matter of choice and what you think works best.

For 4.1 I'd suggest using greenpois0n. I haven't had a single problem with it.

I've always used Redsn0w. And blackra1n once. I have yet to try the green pois0n and limera1n.

Limera1n has given me zero problems...mindlessly easy to do when i was on 4.1, and still no actual problems with it through the redsn0w process on 4.2.1 (since it still uses limera1n).

You should pick between redsn0w & greenp0ison because redsn0w basically uses limera1n.
