need help about 4.2.1

Hello guys i just got an iphone 4 and i wanted to jailbreak it and i dwnl redsn0w and the 4.2.1 version but when i want to use it on redsn0w i cannot find it maybe its zipped or something like that.
A friend told me that the version 4.2.1 must be something .ispw. but i dont know how to do it
COULD SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME

Save the ISPW to your desktop, that way it will be real easy to find when using redsnow. Everytime I have downloaded a firmware its never been a zip or rar file, always just an ISPW.

Sometimes it gets saved with a .zip extension. DO NOT open that, just change the .zip to .ipsw and you'll be good to go.

Is jailbreaking dangerous? Not at all. If you dont like it, you can restore to factory settings using itunes.
