Jailbreak for 3gs on 4.2.1

So im new to jailbreaking and i have been looking at the guides and all the useful information provided but i wasn't sure if im able to jailbreak my phone since its running 4.2.1. Do i have to wait till they release a jailbreak for it or would the current jailbreaks out there for 4.1 work fine. Im also not looking to unlock my phone if that helps.

You can jailbreak right now but it will be tethered (use redsn0w). For an untethered jailbreak you will need to wait...
