It is currently known that this particular jailbreak causes such anomalies with 3G and also FaceTime as well as MMS. Personally, I'm waiting until there is a more stable release before I take the Cydia plunge again.

Operator settings
Hi! I had this problem today too and I tried all kinds of thing (Airplane mode, disabling 3g, taking off and turning on mobile data etc.) until I switch Automatic to my specific carrier in Settings -> Carrier. After that I had a working data connection again. Was pretty freaky to lose it like that..

I would stay away from that jailbreak. A lot of reports of major problems after using it.

Seems like most of the people having problems have the 3G or 3GS. I have the iPhone 4 and after jailbreaking, it's 100% perfect...everything works, no issues at all.
